Masters of Arts in Educational Technology
Upon Undergraduate graduation, I immediately began thinking about continuing my life as a student. Eager to begin teaching, I started with a long term substitute position, taught summer school, and then continued right into the classroom. I have been teaching and learning simultaneously throughout this program. Below you will find the courses I completed and sample work completed from each course.

Instructor FeedbackLinnea, you certainly are motivated as a first year teacher. It is obvious that you are already a teacher-leader. Education needs highly motivated teachers like yourself to bring a fresh perspective into teaching and learning. |

Instructor FeedbackExcellent reflection Linnea! You really did an exceptional job of reflecting on how the lesson facilitated student learning (and helped clear up misconceptions), and how it might work in the future. I like that you structured it with a good amount of scaffolding, taking the students through the process and then gradually allowing them to take more responsibility. I think the technologies you were using had some useful affordances (especially visually, which can be really useful for memory retention) in helping your students to better understand the chronology. This was one of the better reflective pieces I’ve seen for this assignment, and you’re doing an amazing job of being very reflective about your own teaching and considering all of the possibilities for future work. Nice job! Instructor FeedbackThe fact that you are a natural writer, and have no hold-ups about writing a lot, makes you a natural candidate for qualitative research. Linnea, this is an exciting and interesting plan of research. Probably one of the most viable and “thought-through” plans I’ve seen. One that I could see generating both valuable findings and future questions, so I hope you’ll feel free to keep in touch as you go through the process of research. |

Nice job on the final assignment. You did the task very thoughtfully (although a bit more reflection on the process would've been good -- but we know it's hard to do that in addition to the task itself). |

Instructor FeedbackLinnea - you are a very strong writer and I think that comes through clearly in your Unit 4 assignment...Then you crafted a persuasive, well-written argument for the role of technology - while acknowledging concerns about the management of technology, and the point at which class sizes become too large. Your is the type of writing that can change minds, and I have no suggestions for changes to your writing. I hope my comments helped push your thinking.
Let me start this buddy check by saying that you created a great portfolio. I enjoyed going through all your pages and getting to know you a little. You did an outstanding job of showing us what your path through MSU's MAET program looked like. |
