Linnea Czerney Masters Showcase
Throughout the course of my Masters degree, I have been given the chance to utilize and improve upon my knowledge in many aspects of not only technology, but professional and student growth. This gallery displays some of the highlights from this journey. I have demonstrated proficiency in technological tools, research, collaboration, and much more through this program. A more complete collection of my work from each course is also available -- More Detailed Coursework
BlogableTo publish and share my thoughts and work throughout my Masters, I developed a blog. Postings have been sporadic, but highlight a great deal of the early work I have produced. In reading my blog, you will find evaluations of webquests, production of wikis, research development, the collaboration and reflection for a Stand Alone Professional Development tool, and so much more. Through the comments sections, I have received feedback from colleagues and professors.

Parental CommunicationIn my first year of teaching, parental communication was a concern. I was responsible for teaching reading, with a total of 60 students. How could I possibly keep all of their parents and guardians involved in our classroom, when none of them came to visit? I turned to technology to help me accomplish this goal. Using our classroom website, parent surveys, a classroom calendar, and Engrade, I was able to keep them involved outside our classroom walls.

Stand Alone Professional Development ToolThrough collaboration with colleagues, we developed a series of screencasts to act as a tutorial for professionals. After online discussion, we decided that a PD tool for Prezi was needed. All of us worked to create the script and screencasts to accomplish this task. Although we were teaching all over the US, we were able to work together.

Digital StorytellingWhen looking back on my first year of teaching, the most important story I wanted to tell was about traveling across the United States with my students. Most of my students had never left the county, so this was a very exciting task. Without a great reading curriculum to use, I taught my 4th graders by linking readings within a state, and within a region. We read a novel to tie our travels in and put events into history. Through a variety of texts and internet resources, my students grew their understanding of the US.

Implementing TPACKIn writing and implementing this lesson plan, I began to truly see the impact of the TPACK model. My students were focused on the content with the use of various technologies to further their learning. Then they were given the opportunity to create original work and publish it online to share with others.

Math Tools EvaluationsThroughout my Learning Mathematics with Technology course, I reviewed many mathematics online/digital resources. This evaluation required us to think more practically about the tools we use for student learning. Working with elementary focused colleagues, we discussed and collaborated to create these resource critiques. As a final project, I compiled a PBWorks site of my evaluations and those of my colleagues.

Mathe-Magicians: CMSTeaching fourth grade math, I was finding a need for my students to access materials for reviewing our concepts throughout the year. Upon assessing a variety of Course Management Systems, I chose Haiku Learning to host my course. I specifically developed the fractions portion of this course with tutorials, discussions, quizzes, and a variety of assessments.

Developer's NotebookAs I progressed through Teaching Students Online, we were asked to keep a Developer's Notebook of our thoughts, learnings, and progress toward creating our online course. This notebook shows my growth in thinking and shares the feedback from my professors.

Instructional DreamMy instructional dream is focused on Relationships, something so simple, yet so complex, that it drastically impacts every classroom and every school around the world. I was inspired by Rita Pierson's TED talk, and further determined by Dr. James Comer's statement, "no significant learning can occur without a signifiant relationship." It was from these validations of the importance of relationships, that I began my search.
